ResearchNow that you are familiar with the vocabulary of renter's repair rights, it's time to do some research. With your partner, follow the steps below. Steps1. As you complete each step, either write notes in a notebook or type your notes into a Word document for copying and pasting later. 2. Go to the Texas Tentant Advisor Web Site. Click on the button labeled "Rights." (It's located on the right side of the screen.) 3. Click on the button labeled "Repairs." 4. In the main viewing area, click on the link labeled "Watch video on Repairs." 5. As you watch the video take notes on the steps to follow when you need repairs. 6. After viewing the video, click on the steps links on the Web site. Read and take notes. 7. When you get to Step 5, click on the button labeled "Options" on the right. Take notes on the options listed there. 8. Go to the ConsumerAffairs.com Web site. Note: Do not click on the red links within the text. These are advertisements. 9. Scroll down and make notes on "Renter's Rights." Read the section entitled "The Importance of a Walk-Through." 10. Scroll down and click on "Next: The Checklist." 11. Read about all of the different parts of the home you need to look at during a walk-through. You may want to print this page for future reference. 12. Click on "Next: What to do when there are problems." Read the information in this section. Compare the information in this section with the information you read on the Texas Tenant Advisory site. Is it similar? Is it different? 13. Click on "Next: Moving Out." Read the information in this section. 14. Look at the following Web sites and make note of at least three more important facts.
